Infants weren’t all that boomed throughout America’s post-World Conflict II years. The automotive trade rode a rising economic system to unprecedented success. Common Motors sought to harness the recognition of latest automobiles with a touring showcase known as Motorama.
The Motorama was a spectacle. Held in lavish lodge ballrooms and enormous auditoriums, the exhibits featured interactive shows, orchestras, and reside music and dance performances. It ran from 1949 till 1961 as a showcase of the wildest desires of GM’s chief stylist, Harley Earl.
Motorama let Earl current new concepts to the general public within the type of “Dream Automobiles,” visionary non-production experimental autos that confirmed off design and technological options that will discover their solution to manufacturing cars sooner or later.
The Petersen Automotive Museum has corralled six Motorama dream automobiles from the 1953 to ’55 interval. Automobiles on show embrace the 1955 LaSalle II Roadster, 1955 Chevrolet Biscayne, 1955 LaSalle Sedan, 1953 Buick Wildcat, the 1953 Pontiac Parisienne, and a totally unique and unrestored 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Particular.
